We accept the following conditions of participation:

Only exhibitors at the 74th Spielwarenmesse® can take part in the ToyAward.        Products can only be entered if they have not been presented in this form at any Spielwarenmesse® before 2025.

Only fully completed products with market launch as of January 2024 including September 1, 2025, can be submitted. Product sketches and non-functional samples are not eligible for the competition.

Submissions will be treated in strict confidence. The nominated products will be announced for the first time at the main press conference for Spielwarenmesse® on January 23, 2025. The presentation of the winners and the presentation of the ToyAward will take place on January 29, 2025, in the ToyBusinessForum at the Spielwarenmesse®.

The number of entries from one company is limited to three products. All shipping or customs costs will be borne by the participating company. The product must be delivered free of charge – after request for entry.

The product must arrive at Spielwarenmesse eG completely assembled and in working order. Any necessary accessories, e.g. batteries, must be sent along.

The product will also be tested by the jury for usability. Spielwarenmesse eG accepts no liability for any damage that may occur.

The winners undertake to use the ToyAward logo on the product packaging.

The products of all winners and nominees will be advertised throughout the fair in a free secondary placement on the ToyAward stand in Hall 3A and via our digital media.

All products sent in will be donated to a charitable cause for the benefit of children after the ToyAward has been presented or after the end of the Spielwarenmesse®. If this is not desired, please contact us by January 24, 2025. If you have not contacted us by then, the products sent in will be donated as part of the “Value of Play” fundraising campaign.

Spielwarenmesse eG and service providers commissioned by it accept no liability for loss of or damage to products handed over by them or their employees, except in cases of intent or gross negligence. Liability is limited to the purchase price of the product. Spielwarenmesse eG is not liable for loss or damage caused by third parties.

All data provided, registered products as well as their illustrations and product descriptions may be used by Spielwarenmesse eG for marketing and advertising campaigns on the subject of the ToyAward as well as for new product reporting in the Spielwarenmesse® media. Service providers commissioned by Spielwarenmesse eG receive this data for this purpose as part of order processing. In addition, the data protection regulations of Spielwarenmesse eG apply.

Since 2019, there has been a two-stage jury evaluation with a digital preliminary decision. A password-protected forum has been chosen for this, for which the jury members receive exclusive access. As soon as you have registered, the product data will be transferred from Spielwarenmesse eG to this platform and evaluated by our jury. Please submit your product descriptions in English only.

Spielwarenmesse eG reserves the right to divide product submissions into other categories at its own discretion as well as to withdraw the award in case of violation of the conditions of participation or in case of submission of plagiarism or product imitations that infringe copyrights or property rights of third parties or violate regulations of competition law.
